St. John’s is hosting a very unusual discussion after Masses this Sunday, Nov. 16, featuring two mothers of priests and their sons.

Kristin Gilger’s son, Father Paddy, was interim pastor at St. John’s a few years ago, and his good friend, Jeff Sullivan, is associate director of campus ministry at Creighton.

Their mothers had very different reactions to their sons’ decisions to become Jesuit priests.

Kristin is the author of a soon-to-be-released book, “My Son, The Priest: A Mother’s Crisis of Faith,” that has been described as “an exploration of faith, and doubt, and family that expertly balances tender recollection with sharp insight.” The book will be available for sale, and we’ll supply the coffee.
