Prayer in the Style of Taizé

Thursday at 7:00pm, once per academic quarter, at St. John’s Church

I gained a deeper appreciation for the meditative effects of Prayer in the style of Taizé this year. … I was able to spend less time thinking about hitting the right notes and instead allow myself to be enveloped by the music. - 2022 participant

It can be difficult to set aside time to be quiet and present to the Lord with our busy schedules. We invite you to spend time in simple, meditative evening prayer in the style of Taizé. This form of worship calls us to dwell deeply on Christ's presence around and within us. Short, repetitive songs (like "Jesus, Remember Me"), prayerful silence, short readings, and an illumination from the St. John’s Bible guide the focus of the prayer in a candle-lit environment. Everyone in the Creighton community and greater Omaha community is welcome, once per academic quarter at 7:00pm on a Thursday evening.

Dates for Prayer in the Style of Taizé 2024-2025:
